There are lenses that use a magnetic ring to be attached, maybe this can be an alternative soluction to the rubber band. For example

This kind of lenses are not especially good, but there are good enough to take some alternative pictures
The only concern is if the ring is wide enought to be sticked around the Nokia n900.
